HÀ NỘI — President Nguyễn Xuân Phúc chaired a meeting with governmental agencies to discuss a national project on improving law-making and governing capacity yesterday in Hà Nội.
The project is one of several key tasks outlined during the 13th Party Congress and will oversee the Party's leadership as a driving force behind the country's socio-economic development in the decades to come.
The President asked lawmakers to establish a timeline for the project with clearly defined objectives based on facts and science as well as comprehensive studies of the domestic and international states of affairs.
He stressed the importance of building a government by the people and for the people with emphasis on giving the role of observers to the public and safeguarding human and citizen rights.
He called for participation from people from all walks of life, especially intellectuals and scientists to support the effort to build a Government that at the centre runs by rule of law.
He asked the Party's internal affairs committee to quickly finish an outline of the project, which will then be presented to the Poliburo for review and feedback. A meeting is to be held at the end of June to discuss the outline. VNS
