HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam Asset Management Company (VAMC) said it is completing the final procedures to open a debt exchange. After going into operation, not only institutional investors but also individuals can trade on the exchange.
The VAMC debt exchange is established with the main activity of providing consultancy and brokerage services to buy and sell debts and assets of organisations and individuals through the use of professional knowledge to detect problems, propose solutions related to the purchase and sale of bad debts, arrange the sale and purchase of bad debts, and so on.
The debt exchange is also established with the goal of creating and providing a new, professional and effective service in bad debt settlement, thereby enhancing the position and role of VAMC, contributing to the quick and definitive settlement of bad debts, promoting the development of the debt trading market with VAMC playing a central role in the market.
With the final procedures being completed, Đoàn Văn Thắng, VAMC general director, expected that the exchange would come into operation at the beginning of the third quarter of this year. — VNS
