HÀ NỘI — Hà Nội and HCM City police detained Phạm Thị Đoan Trang in HCM City’s District 3 for allegedly spreading anti-State propaganda.

According to the Ministry of Public Security, Hà Nội police launched criminal proceedings on October 7 against Trang, 42, whose registered residence is in Đống Đa District, Hà Nội, for “anti-State propaganda“ as prescribed in Article 88 of the Criminal Code 1999 and “creating, storing, spreading and disseminating information, documents, materials and items for the purpose of opposing the State of the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam”, in line with the Article 117 of the Criminal Code 2015.

The Hà Nội People’s Procuracy has approved the decision of Hà Nội police.
