HCM CITY — The Vietnam International Food Industry Exhibition (Vietnam Foodexpo) and Vietnam International Food Technology Exhibition (Vietnam Foodtech) will be virtual this year, with the participation of 300 local and foreign exhibitors.

To be held from December 9-12, the exhibitions will provide a platform for local and foreign companies to introduce their products, exchange information, and explore business opportunities amid the global COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the last five years, the annual events, the country’s largest forum in the food industry, have successfully promoted the value and brands of Vietnamese foods and enhanced connections between Vietnamese and foreign business communities.

This year, under the support of the Chungcheongnam-do Government and Chungchengnam-do Economic Promotion Agency, 12 businesses operating in the field of food from South Korea’s Chungchenngnam-do province will showcase their products and services at the exhibitions.

The companies are DYSSKOREA, BOGO SHINYAK, HAEDANSOL21, ALCHAN JAERAEKIM, GODBAWEE FOOD, HANDORA, SONGHAK, DAEDONG, GEUMSANINSANJU, JOOAN, HAIIN FISHERY, and BT NATURE.

Their main products include seaweed and seaweed-based products, functional drinks, functional cosmetics, pear juice, beauty products such as face masks, red ginseng tablets and extracts, sliced and whole red ginseng, red ginseng jelly and candy, pink powder ginseng, ginseng alcohol, fresh ginseng wine kits, and ceramic pot wine sets.

The event offers a good opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to learn about new Korean products and for Korean businesses to access the Vietnamese market.

Kwang-Ok OH, CEO of the Chungcheongnam-do Economic Promotion Agency (CEPA), which represents the Chungcheongnam-do Government, said earlier this year, CEPA established the branch, CEPA Vietnam Office, in Việt Nam and has been trying to connect Korean and Vietnamese businesses by creating online and offline meetings in many industries such as food, electrical appliances, and industrial ingredients.

To support local and foreign businesses in trade promotion, the Việt Nam Trade Promotion Agency and Adpex JSC, the organisers of the four day event, have created an online business matching programme and VIPs Buyers programme. — VNS
