The exhibition, which opened in Đà Nẵng city on Wednesday, also marked the 60th anniversary of the Liberation Press Agency (October 12th, 1960). The Liberation Press Agency (LPA), the official news provider of the National Liberation Front of South Việt Nam during the resistance war against America, was later merged into Vietnam News Agency (VNA) after the reunification of Việt Nam in 1975.

It contains collected thousands of images as well as typewriters, photo printing machines, code manipulators, film cameras, and signal transmission machines from old reporters serving for the Liberation Press Agency during the American war (1960-1975).

The room, which located at the second floor in the new information service centre of the VNA’s Central and Central Highlands region in Đà Nẵng, will be a popular site for young people exploring the history of journalism.

The VNA’s Central and Central Highlands region now has 11 branches for news coverage in provinces and cities from Quảng Trị to Khánh Hòa. — VNS
